The Scientific Advisory Board

The Scientific Advisory Board was set up in 1994. It advises the Executive Board through its scientific assessments and through its many years of work experience is incorporated into the work of the dvi.

The current Speaker of the scientific advisory board is Prof. Karl-Richard Eschke (Hamburg).

The Working Groups within the dvi

The Institute has set up various Working Groups (AG).

• AG Further Education and Training
• AG Public Relations
• AG Packaging and Environment

The higher-level, cross-sectional themes dealt with in the Working Groups are discussed amongst all the participants and the conclusions are evaluated. The results are communicated to the association members as well as to the general public.

The existing structure is flexible and can be adjusted to incorporate further AGs should the need arise.

Co-operation dvi / bdvi

The dvi has co-operated since 1994 with the Association of German Packaging Engineers (Bund Deutscher Verpackungsingenieure). The events of regional associations of the bdvi are open to all employees of the dvi member companies and institutions.

The German Packaging Competition

The German Packaging Competition has for several decades set the standard for packaging performance. The dvi has been responsible for organizing the German Packaging Competition since 1996.

Innovations in packaging design were first given their own stage in 1999 in the Packaging Design Competition. This annual competition is directed particularly at designers and advertising agencies.
