The familiar plastic bag, but with newly designed carrying handle in the side gusset. The newly-developed and patent-pending U-Pack with split carrying handle is a versatile problem solver for logistics and material flow. The handle is separated in the middle in the new design and no longer needs to be folded during production. This reduces the material build-up (at the handle) by up to 500 µm, which eliminates the original problem of the bag fanning out concertina-like during storage and supply. This means that pallets can be loaded with up to 20 % more bags, which leads to improved usage and savings in loading metres on the truck. In addition, by eliminating the concertina effect, it enables automated packing of the bags with a packing robot and automated removal at the customer’s premises.
