Extended submission phase until 11 June 2025
We are extending the deadline for submissions to the German Packaging Award 2025. Companies, institutions and individuals from Germany and abroad now have until 11 June to register their products and prototypes across all materials. There are a total of ten innovation categories to choose from, each with transparent criteria, at Europe’s largest showcase for packaging.
We have received several enquiries, largely due to the many public holidays in May and a constantly high workload in companies, as to whether the submission phase for the German Packaging Award 2025 can be extended. We are delighted to be able to respond to these requests by extending the submission phase until 11 June. Sadly, we will not be able to extend any further than this date as the two-day meeting of our independent expert jury has already been committed.
10 categories with fixed evaluation criteria
There are 10 categories in which products or prototypes can be submitted, ranging from Design, Functionality & Convenience, Product Presentation, Cost Effectiveness and Sustainability to Logistics & Material Flow, New Material, Digitalisation and Packaging Machines (engineering, technology, software). A product can even be submitted in several categories at the same time. There is a special category for students and trainees. Submissions are made via an online platform where all information and supporting evidence can be collected and temporarily stored.
Gold Award and the award ceremony
As well as the Packaging Award, the specialist jury is also able to honour particularly pioneering innovations that stand out even from the illustrious circle of Packaging Award winners with a Gold Award. The award ceremony will take place on 23 September 2025 as part of FACHPACK. Together with our partners IGEAP group and Sappi as well as our premium partner FACHPACK, we have pleasure today in inviting you to Nuremberg.
Honour, recognition, arguments
The German Packaging Award is the industry’s triple-A rating. Companies winning an award make a powerful statement. They demonstrate their outstanding innovative strength and gain tangible arguments for external and internal communication. The costs are very modest, but the payback is enormous. We look forward to seeing many exciting innovations.
