In our new seminar, you will learn everything you need to know about the new EU regulation “Ecodesign for Sustainable Products” (ESPR) -> from details to exemptions to all matters that are relevant for the packaging industry.
In March 2022, the EU published a proposal for an Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR). The new regulation aims at establishing a framework to make all products that are placed on the EU market sustainable (with some exemptions) by reducing the negative life cycle environmental impacts of products and improving the functioning of the internal market.
The ESPR addresses durability, repairability, reusability, energy and resource efficiency as well as CO2-optimization of products. Also sets rules for product labelling for optimized consumer decision making and strives for a clear Digital Product Passport to electronically register, process and share product-related information along its value chain and to consumers.
Being a “lex generalis” the ESPR will also relate to packaging. At the same time more specific regulations as the Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive (PPWD) and REACH will prevail in certain matters.
In our online seminar, we will
give you a detailed overview of the ESPR regulation,
emphasize on its meaning for the packaging industry,
name exemptions and
address “overlapping” parts of the regulation with other packaging relevant EU Directives.
