Jury evaluation:
Reusable beverage crates account for about 60% in the German market. These have already been produced with high PCR proportions for some time now, and worn-out crates have also been reprocessed into new crates. Anheuser-Busch InBev has now developed a reusable beverage crate for its Corona Extra brand that not only continues to use a high PCR content, but also recycles material from “marine litter” waste into a high-quality material. The boxes are made of more than 90% recycled plastic, 20% of which is waste from the maritime industry such as fishing lines, nets and ropes. This makes it the first and only beverage crate that also uses plastics from the maritime industry.
