Wow factor: 41 winners of the German Packaging Award 2024

The 27 independent members of the German Packaging Award jury certainly had their work cut out: Almost 250 submissions from 13 countries flooded in to the German Packaging Institute e.V. (dvi), the organiser of Europe’s largest packaging exhibition, to be individually assessed and evaluated. In the end, 41 innovations in 10 categories were honoured with the prestigious and long-established award. The dvi is thrilled to see so much class at the top and across the board – and cordially invites the industry to the awards ceremony and the announcement of the Gold Awards at FACHPACK.

German Packaging Award 2024 begins

15 April 2024 marks the start of the submission phase for the German Packaging Award 2024. Companies, organisations and individuals from home and abroad have until 31 May to submit their innovations and best solutions to Europe’s largest independent showcase for packaging. The award, organised by the German Packaging Institute (dvi), is decided by an independent jury of experts in 10 categories across all materials and sectors. And this year the application process is being made even easier with a new portal.

Four Golds at the German Packaging Award 2023

On Wednesday 13 September 2023, the industry assembled at the German Packaging Institute (dvi)’s invitation in the “Meistersaal” historic concert hall in Berlin for the presentation of the German Packaging Awards 2023. During the celebrations, the winners of the Gold Awards were also announced, where the jury further honours four particularly ground-breaking innovations from among the already successful winners: an aluminium packaging for solid care cosmetics by Aroma Elite Naturkosmetik Manufaktur, a machine for producing sustainable packaging from common paper production fibres and other natural fibres by Kiefel GmbH, a recyclable mono-PE stand-up pouch with outstanding oxygen barrier and deinking features by Siegwerk and an innovative battery packaging with storage and separation system for full and dead batteries by student Leonie Theurer from HTWK Leipzig.

34 innovations make it through at the German Packaging Award 2023

The independent jury of the German Packaging Award 2023 has announced the winners of Europe’s largest showcase for packaging achievements. A total of 34 innovations from England, Germany, the Netherlands and Austria triumphed in the cross-material showcase organised by the German Packaging Institute (dvi) for the best solutions in packaging. The dvi is delighted with the high quality, diversity and range of innovations. The award ceremony will take place on 13 September 2023 in the Berlin “Meistersaal” historic concert hall. The winners of the Gold Award, which further honours particularly ground-breaking innovations from among the already successful packaging award winners, will also be announced here in an exclusive feature.

New study on the climate relevance of packaging: 94% less CO2 achievable by 2045

A recent study by the GVM Gesellschaft für Verpackungsmarktforschung market research company and ifeu – Institute for Energy and Environmental Research Heidelberg gGmbH, commissioned by eight industry associations, shows that the greenhouse gas emissions associated with packaging in the German market could be reduced by 94 per cent by 2045. The study predicts that packaging consumption in Germany will have peaked in 2021 and continue to decline in the future. On top of this, the use of recycled materials and recycling proportions will both increase.

Launch of the international German Packaging Award 2023!

Curtain up for the German Packaging Award 2023! Companies, organisations and individuals have until 19 May 2023 to submit their innovations and new solutions to Europe’s largest showcase for packaging. The award, organised by the German Packaging Institute (dvi), covers 10 categories across all materials and is open to companies, organisations and individuals from home and abroad.

Hall of fame: Six Gold Awards at the German Packaging Award

The German Packaging Institute (dvi) announced the winners of the Gold Awards at this year’s German Packaging Award on 27 September at a special industry event on the first day of FACHPACK trade fair. The six best innovations of 2022 come from the economic efficiency, sustainability, digitalisation, packaging machines and young talent categories. The 32 innovative solutions that had already won a German Packaging Award in August were also celebrated.

Innovative all the way to the top: the German Packaging Award 2022 selects 38 winners

The jury of the German Packaging Award 2022 has announced the winners of Europe’s largest showcase for packaging achievements. A total of 38 innovations from six countries triumphed in the competition organised by the German Packaging Institute (dvi) for the best solutions in packaging. The award ceremony will take place on 27 September 2022 as part of FACHPACK in Nuremburg. The winners of the Gold Award, which further honours particularly ground-breaking innovations from among the already successful packaging award winners, will also be announced here in an exclusive feature.

Defend shared values in packaging science, education and cooperation

EPIC, the organisation of the European packaging institutes1, is calling for joint action as a result of the attack by Russia on Ukraine last week. EPIC calls upon all business actors in Europe to defend their shared values in packaging science, education, information exchange and cooperation. The basis of these values is mutual respect, open-mindedness and friendship.

The award, organised by the German Packaging Institute (dvi), covers 10 categories across all materials and is held under the patronage of the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy.
