Innovations ahead! German Packaging Award 2022 begins.

Launch of the German Packaging Award 2022! Companies, organisations and individuals have until 15 May to submit their innovations and new solutions to Europe’s largest showcase for packaging. The award, organised by the German Packaging Institute (dvi), covers 10 categories across all materials and is held under the patronage of the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy.

Gold Awards presented for the year’s best innovations.

Good? Better? Best! On the first day of the FachPack trade fair in Nuremberg, 15 top packaging solutions that stand out from among the German Packaging Award 2021 winners were honoured by the German Packaging Institute (dvi) with the exclusive Gold Award for particularly ground-breaking innovations. All 52 of this year’s Packaging Award winners were additionally introduced and honoured as part of this special industry event. The Gold Award winners at Europe’s biggest showcase for packaging achievements represent the very best solutions in nine different categories: Digitalization, Functionality & Convenience, Design & Processing, Logistics & Material Flow, Sustainability, New Material, Packaging Machinery, Presentation of Goods and Economic Efficiency. The jury also decided to make a special Gold Award in the Young Talents category.

Innovative brilliance: the winners of the German Packaging Award 2021

This is what winners look like! The jury of the German Packaging Award 2021 has announced the winners of the major European showcase for packaging. A total of 52 innovations from six countries won through in the competition to find the best solutions organised by the German Packaging Institute (dvi). The award ceremony will take place on 28 September 2021 as part of FACHPACK. The winners of the Gold Award, which further honours particularly ground-breaking innovations from among the already successful packaging award winners, will also be announced here.

Resounding public verdict: packaging is more sustainable and better than ever before.

The latest results of a representative population survey commissioned by the German Packaging Institute (Deutsches Verpackungsinstitut e. V. (dvi)) show that the multitude of innovations in the field of sustainable packaging in recent years are being well received by consumers. Nearly half of respondents – 44% – perceive clear progress in environmental friendliness of packaging, and only 15.7% see it as having regressed. Moreover, three out of four respondents, 74.6%, confirm that this progress has been achieved either with no compromise in functionality and convenience – or even enhancing it. Even so, the dvi recommends further measures to implement the circular economy in packaging, and use of objective life cycle assessments to evaluate sustainability.

Thirteen Golds at the German Packaging Award 2020

The Hall of Fame for the most important innovations has been enriched by 13 outstanding solutions. The jury of the German Packaging Award announced this year’s Gold Award winners in an online event at Europe’s largest packaging exhibition. The awards were presented for innovations in paper, corrugated board, cardboard, wood, tin and plastic as well as a machine solution. Four Gold Awards went to the sustainability category, two each to the design and finishing and product presentation categories, and one Gold Award each to the digitization, packaging machines, functionality & convenience, cost-effectiveness and logistics & material flow categories. The winners come from Germany and Switzerland.

Curtain up for the winners of the German Packaging Award 2020!

The German Packaging Institute e. V. (dvi), the organiser of the largest European packaging exhibition, has announced the results of the deliberations by the independent jury of experts. The winning field comprises 38 outstanding innovations from Austria, Germany, Great Britain and Switzerland. The jury will again this year recognise particularly ground-breaking and bold innovations by presenting a number of Packaging Award winners with the exclusive Gold Award. The announcement and celebration of the Gold Award winners will take place during the online dvi Dialogue Week on 24 September 2020.
