The best innovations of 2026 have been chosen
Over 200 companies from 17 countries submitted their innovations to the 2026 German Packaging Award. In the end, the independent expert jury selected 36 outstanding solutions across ten categories. We cordially invite you to attend the award ceremony and the announcement of the Gold Awards on 19 November 2026 at a special industry event in Berlin. There is no charge to take part, all you need to do is to register in advance.
More than 200 innovations were submitted, demonstrating outstanding achievements right across the board. It was no easy task for our jury. Over the course of two days, all entries were examined, assessed and debated. In the end, 36 innovations prevailed. These showcase a wide variety of materials and make improvements to a diverse range of areas and functions. Three trophies were awarded in the Packaging Machines category. Four awards were given to students in the Young Talent category.

All players along the packaging value chain are invited to take part in the German Packaging Award: companies, institutions, and individuals, such as clients, designers, developers, manufacturers, and users of packaging, as well as students, apprentices, and pupils. Participation is expressly open to international entrants, meaning that submissions may come from both Germany and abroad.
Award ceremony and Gold Awards
We cordially invite all involved in the packaging industry to the awards ceremony in Berlin on 19 November. As part of a special industry event, we will be presenting the winning teams from the companies with their trophies and certificates on the main stage.
As well as this, we will also be announcing the recipients of our exclusive Gold Awards. The jury honours innovations that stand out even from this special circle of Packaging Award winners with these Gold Awards.

Announcement of the winners July 30, 2026
Award ceremony The exclusive award ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 19, 2026, from 12:00 to 16:00 in Berlin, Friedrichstraße.
Submission phase 2027 The call for entries and submission phase for the German Packaging Award 2027 will take place from March to mid-May 2027 online at www.packagingaward.de.

Are you a designer, developer, manufacturer, or user of innovative packaging solutions, or part of the industry’s emerging creative talent? Then submit your innovations and best solutions in spring 2027 to Europe’s leading showcase for packaging.
The German Packaging Award is open to all stakeholders along the packaging value chain: companies, institutions, and individuals, such as clients, designers, developers, manufacturers, and users of packaging, as well as students, trainees, and pupils. Participation is explicitly open internationally, meaning submissions may come from both Germany and abroad and do not have to originate in Germany.

Over 200 submissions from 15 countries and three continents entered the race for the German Packaging Award 2025. After thoroughly examining every one of them, the independent jury of experts honoured 37 outstanding innovations across all materials with the coveted award at Europe’s largest packaging exhibition.
The winners come from Germany, Iran, Austria, Switzerland and the USA. We also received submissions from China, England, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Serbia, Spain, the Czech Republic and Turkey.

The innovations cover the entire range of materials. They use glass, wood, rigid or flexible plastic, metal, paper, cardboard and corrugated cardboard.
We look forward to pioneering solutions and new standards for closed-loop systems, reusability and refillability, for the development of innovative sources and applications for recyclate, for new bio-based materials, optimal unboxing and intuitive user experiences, for mono-material composites and barrier functions, for product protection, residual emptying, first-opening protection, single-variety recycling and for reusable systems.
