Jury evaluation:

In recent years, there has been more of a trend – accelerated due to Covid-19 – towards cooking at home. This has increased the need for a new solution to a long-established form of packaging. When shipping fresh raw eggs, standard fibre packaging cannot withstand the stresses of transport. A solution needed to be found to transport the fragile eggs all the way to the buyer. This submission solves the problem – an egg packaging that withstands the dynamic stresses of transport so also addressing the issue of food waste. The egg literally floats to the user. The reduced contact surface of the egg with the packaging and the lateral fixation means the egg can no longer break. A solution that impressed the jury so much it wins a Packaging Award in 2022.
