DACHSER SE wurde für die Entwicklung der „Retail Box“ ausgezeichnet, einem neuartigen Mehrwegsystem für die europäische Stückgutlogistik. Diese Innovation ermöglicht den umweltfreundlichen Transport empfindlicher oder hochwertiger Güter als Standardsendung über das Stückgutnetz (vergleichbar mit einer Europalette). Im Kern der Lösung steht ein abschließbarer Mehrwegbehälter im Europaletten- und Eurohalbpaletten-Maß, der effizient im Mischbetrieb der heterogenen Stückgutlogistik genutzt und rückgeführt werden kann. Die Retail Box erfüllt alle Anforderungen an Nachhaltigkeit, indem sie Verpackungsabfälle vermeidet und gleichzeitig Prozesse im Versand und am Point-of-Sale optimiert. Ein innovatives digitales Tracking-System sorgt für ein transparentes und effizientes Handling. Zudem kann ein effizientes Management der Boxen über die Tracking-Plattform des Start-ups Logistikbude in Kombination mit Mobilfunksystemen der Deutschen Telekom realisiert werden. Mit dieser Mehrweg-Lösung können Warenempfänger täglich innerhalb von 24 bis 72 Stunden beliefert und der Verpackungsmüll deutlich reduziert werden (bei hängenden Anzügen sind es beispielsweise über 4000 kg weniger im Vergleich zu Einwegsystemen). 

Die Classic Retail Box hat ein Eigengewicht von 144 kg, eine Nutzlast von 500 kg und ein Ladevolumen von 1,84 Kubikmetern. Sie kann sowohl hängende Bekleidung als auch Artikel in Umverpackungen aufnehmen, ist mit einem Siegel sicherbar und lässt sich in unter 50 Sekunden zusammenfalten oder aufbauen. Leere Boxen beanspruchen nur 73% der Fläche einer Europalette, was eine Volumenoptimierung im Leergut-Transport ermöglicht.

DACHSER SE was chosen for its development of the “Retail Box”, a new type of returnable system for European general cargo logistics. This innovation enables the environmentally friendly transport of sensitive or high-value goods as a standard consignment via the general cargo network (comparable to a Euro pallet). A lockable returnable container in Euro pallet and Euro half-pallet dimensions which can be efficiently used and returned to mixed heterogeneous general cargo logistics is at the heart of the solution. The Retail Box meets all sustainability requirements by avoiding packaging waste and at the same time optimising processes in shipping and at the point of sale. An innovative digital tracking system ensures transparent and efficient handling. The boxes can also be efficiently managed via the start-up Logistikbude’s tracking platform in combination with Deutsche Telekom’s mobile communications systems. Goods can be delivered to recipients within 24 to 72 hours every day with this reusable solution, and packaging waste can be significantly reduced (for hanging suits, for example, over 4,000 kg less than with disposable systems). 

The Classic Retail Box has a tare weight of 144 kg, a payload of 500 kg and a load volume of 1.84 cubic metres. It can hold both hanging garments and items in outer packaging, can be secured with a seal and can be folded or assembled in under 50 seconds. Empty boxes take up only 73% of the space of a Euro pallet, which enables volume optimisation in the transport of empties.
