Disc Safe – Brake disc packaging

Die Jury sagt: 

Die Disc Safe ist eine Umverpackung für Bremsscheiben von Autos. Eine Bremsscheibe wird einzeln verpackt und anschließend in einer Transportkiste mit weiteren Einzelverpackungen gebündelt und dann auf einer Europalette transportiert. Bisher wurden für 230 unterschiedliche Bremsscheibentypen eine zweiteilige Lösung in 5 Größenausführungen eingesetzt. Die neue Verpackung ist nunmehr eine materialsparende einteilige Konstruktion mit einem Polster, das die Bremsscheibe sicher fixiert. Die neue Verpackung ermöglicht eine deutliche Erhöhung der Stückzahl pro Transportkiste und reduziert so Transportaufwand, CO₂-Emissionen und Kosten. Dieses durchdachte Konzept überzeugte die Jury aufgrund der klaren Vorteile für Umwelt und Logistik.

What the jury said: 

Disc Safe is an outer packaging for car brake discs. A brake disc is packed individually and then bundled in a transport box with other individual packages and then transported on a Euro pallet. Until now, a two-piece solution in 5 different sizes has been used for 230 different brake disc types. This new packaging is now a material-saving single-piece construction with a pad that holds the brake disc securely in place. The new packaging enables a significant increase in the number of items per transport crate, thus reducing transport costs, CO₂ emissions and costs. This well-thought-out concept impressed the jury with its clear benefits for the environment and logistics.
