VpCI-Folie mit Recyclingkonzept

Die Jury sagt: 

Ausgezeichnet wirddie herausragende Leistung der Jakob Schober GmbH und ihrer Partner ein „Closed-Loop-System“ für ihre innovative VpCI-Korrosionsschutzfolie geschaffen zu haben.  

In Kooperation mit der Partnerfirma EcoCortec wurde im ersten Schritt eine neue VpCI-Folie entwickelt, die nun recyclingfähig ist und einen Anteil von 30% PCR (Post-Consumer-Recyclat) hat.  

Im zweiten Schritt wurde mit den Europäischen Kunden ein Kreislaufsystem aufgebaut, um die VpCI-Folien nach Gebrauch zu sammeln und wieder zurückzuholen. Dafür wird die Logistik für eigene neue Produkte auch für den Rücktransport genutzt. Die gebrauchten VpCI-Folien werden dann recycelt und als PCR-Anteil in neuen Folien wieder in den Kreislauf eingeführt.  

Viele reden über Kreisläufe für Verpackungen, Jakob Schober, hat es mit Kunden und Partner auch in der Praxis vorgemacht. Das ist eindrucksvoll und verdient die Auszeichnung mit dem Deutschen Verpackungspreis.

What the jury said: 

The award recognises the outstanding achievement of Jakob Schober GmbH and its partners in implementing a “closed-loop system” for their innovative VpCI (Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitor) corrosion protection film.  

The first step, in cooperation with their partner company EcoCortec, was to develop a new VpCI film that is now recyclable and contains 30% PCR (post-consumer recyclate).  

In a second step, a recycling system has been set up with their European customers to collect the VpCI films after use and bring them back. To this end, the logistics for their our own new products are also used for return transport. The used VpCI films are then recycled and reintroduced into the cycle as PCR content in new films.  

Many people talk about closed loops for packaging, Jakob Schober has actually demonstrated it with customers and partners in practice. This is impressive and is fully deserving of the German Packaging Award.
