Packaging School: Online-Modul "Glass & Metal Packaging"

In Kooperation mit der Packaging School der Clemson University bietet das dvi das E-learning Modul "Glass & Metal Packaging" als Web-based-training an.

Die Lerninhalte des Moduls sind in kleine Lerneinheiten aufgeteilt, so dass die Teilnahme an und die Bearbeitung von verschiedenen Arbeitspaketen über mehrere Tage oder Wochen erfolgen kann. Der/die Teilnehmende hat die Möglichkeit die Lernvideos und Lehrinhalte jederzeit zu stoppen, zu wiederholen und je nach Interesse zu überspringen. Am Ende jedes Lernabschnitts kann das Gelernte in Form eines Quiz überprüft werden.

Mit erstmaligem Beginn des E-learning Moduls (durch Aktivierung per zugesandten Aktivierungscode) stehen die Lerninhalte den Teilnehmern für 12 Monate zur Verfügung.

What You Will Learn

This course is designed to guide you through the art and science of enclosing and protecting products for use and sale with, you guessed it, glass and metal! Modules within this course cover an overview of glass and metal as pertinent materials in the packaging industry, manufacturing, design, procurement, packaging types, industry applications, and more!

Course Objectives

• Fully understand the manufacturing and production cycles of glass from conception to final product

• Discuss the different types of glass, recyclability, manufacturing, and sustainability

• Analyze the attributes of glass packaging and how it relates to plastics

• Learn about the history of metal and its usage in packaging, as well as the current state of the industry

• Understand the manufacturing process thoroughly, including the key raw materials and treatment processes

• Grasp coating systems that can be applied to metal, along with their respective properties

• Understand glass containers and bottle designs from an applied perspective and how they impact business decisions

• Apply course material to glass packaging used in the consumer-goods sector, which covers wine, beer, spirits, fragrance, and cosmetics

• Identify various formats of metal packaging, such as Aeresols, two and three-piece cans, beverage cans, flexible packaging, tubes, trays, distribution, and more

• Comprehend and apply the fundamentals of metal packaging and the value it brings to the food, beverage, health & beauty, household, and industrial sectors
