The German Packaging Award is the leading competition to showcase the best solutions within the packaging industry. What began in 1963 as the “German Packaging Competition” has long since established itself as a highly regarded and wide-ranging packaging competition in Europe.

Costs

General participants pay €500 for the first submission and €400 for each additional submission (plus VAT).

Participation in the Young Talent section is free for students, trainees and school pupils.

The organiser will make no further charge to award winners for their seal, documentation, etc.

The entry fee will not be refunded in the event of not winning an award.

Cancellation/withdrawal of the submission after the closing date: The full participation fee will be forfeited, unless the participant provides evidence of a differing amount of damages or expenses in individual cases.

Participants

Individuals, companies and institutions from Germany and abroad can take part.

This includes contractors, designers, developers, manufacturers and users of packaging solutions and machines as well as up-and-coming creatives in the industry (including school pupils, trainees and students).

Innovative solutions from the entire packaging value chain which are already on the market or available as a prototype can be submitted. The range extends from packaging machinery, technology and software to packaging materials, packaging means and packaging aids as well as display, industrial, transportation, logistics and promotional packaging and packaging families.

The jury of experts attaches just as much importance to the seemingly small but important detail as to the large, market-encompassing solution.

Rights

The participant must not infringe any patent or licence rights. Violations will result in any award given being revoked.

Tip for registration

Our jury has excellent knowledge of technical, material and application in products. However, with well over 200 submissions per year, their time is limited. So please get straight to the point when describing your submission! Describe the innovations, qualities and successes of your submission in a compact and concise way, compare any old and new solutions and describe in 50 words why your submission is worthy of an award!

Confidentiality

The organiser will only publish the award-winning entries (winners) of the packaging award competition from 23 July 2024.

No general confidentiality for all competition submissions can be guaranteed. The jury members are sworn to secrecy.
